Il dipartimento di Citizenship and Expatriate Affairs riceve e lavora le pratiche di richiesta di residenza dei cittadini europei che non sono cittadini maltesi e intendono risiedere legalmente a Malta per un periodo superiore ai tre mesi.
Qual è la procedura?
Al termine di alcune procedure, viene fissato un appuntamento. Il modulo di richiesta e tutti i documenti da allegare devono essere caricati sul portale di Identity Malta prima dell’appuntamento. Sul posto vengono fatte le foto in formato tessera necessarie per la richiesta. Il giorno dell’appuntamento viene rilasciato un documento provvisorio in attesa di ricevere l’avviso per il ritiro della card fisica. La card fisica si ritira allo stesso indirizzo.
Ad oggi tutta la richiesta è esente da costi.
Nel caso di furto o smarrimento della residence card il richiedente deve presentarsi con un modulo specifico, la documentazione richiesta in fase di appuntamento e la denuncia alla polizia del furto o smarrimento.
La residenza dei cittadini europei si può richiedere per vari motivi, i più comuni sono:
- Lavoro
- Studio
- Ricongiungimento familiare
- Scelta di risiedere nello stato in forma di autonomia economica
Perchè richiedere la E-ID Virtual Account
E’ importante richiedere il E-ID Virtual Account appena in possesso della card fisica di residence, al fine di accedere on line ai servizi governativi e alle informazioni personali (per esempio il proprio account fiscale e contributivo).
Una volta ottenuta la e-residence si può procedere con l’ iscrizione all’ AIRE e ad altre pratiche, come ad esempio l’apertura di un conto corrente bancario.
I figli minori (sotto i 16 anni) di genitori separati o divorziati o che sono in carico alla madre, quando richiedono la residenza come family member devono prevedere la dichiarazione di consenso dell’altro genitore.
